The Conservative Canon is an ongoing project, which I admit. It will take a few years. I have lists of books I need to get to (at least to have some familiarity with them before I finalize the tour) on top of the fact I’m hoping to incorporate a ten-year reading program from the Canon to give people a general guide for tackling the huge amount of material which will be found in the Canon.
But, since it will all take some time, and the blogesphere is nothing if not impatient, here is a one year introduction to conservatism:
–The Conservative Mind, Russell Kirk
–The Road to Serfdom, Fred Hayek
–The Law, Fred Bastiat
–When Character was King, Peggy Noonan
–Ronald Reagan, Dinesh D’Souza
–Liberal Fascism, Jonah Goldberg
–Conscience of a Conservative, Barry Goldwater
-The Unmaking of a Mayor, God and Man at Yale, Up from Liberalism, Bill Buckley
–Basic Economics, The Quest for Cosmic Justice, Knowledge and Decisions, The Vision of the Anointed, Thomas Sowell
–Parliament of Whores, Eat the Rich, Republican Party Reptile, All the Trouble in the World, P.J. O’Rourke
-The Constitution of the United States, The Declaration of Independence
-The Gospel of Matthew, Acts of the Apostles
-Book of Proverbs
