Political Training
I’m a strong advocate of grassroots activism. I also recommend local activists get plenty of training in political technology (outside the cold and corporate training offered by the GOP). The Leadership Institute is one of the best educational resources for conservatives (though I’d never suggest working there) and they have a school for potential campaign managers that looks pretty good:
THE VERY BEST WEEK-LONG SCHOOL FOR CAMPAIGN MANAGEMENT
CAMPAIGN MANAGER SCHOOL SET FOR JUNE 10-15, 2007Most campaign schools tell you winning depends entirely on how much money you raise and how much money you spend on slick television ads. That’s NOT true.
The most effective campaigns balance good media with the most modern organizational techniques.
The Campaign Manager School shows you how to win even if you are outspent and none of the experts give you a chance.
Regardless of your level of political experience, learn how to:
• CRAFT YOUR OWN COMPREHENSIVE CAMPAIGN PLAN AND MEDIA STRATEGY
• ORGANIZE AN EFFECTIVE GRASSROOTS CAMPAIGN
• FORMULATE A COMPLETE FUNDRAISING STRATEGY
• DEVELOP A STRUCTURE FOR MANAGING YOUR STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS
• WRITE VOTER MAIL THAT GETS YOU VOTESYou pay only $250. This includes meals, course materials, and free lodging (limited space available).
