-Be sure to check out the MLB Awards and Predictions piece put out by Nino Colla. It has contributions from every MLB Community Leader (including yours truly) at the Bleacher Report. A quick preview, my choice for MVP (Joe Mauer) and Cy Young (Roy Halladay) weren’t the guys the group as a whole picked.
-Finally finished chapters 15/16 of Gibbons Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire (part of the ten year reading plan of the great books of the western world). A little dull, but surprisingly fascinating at times. If one can see through the endless names and dates and get a look at the broader picture, it is a fascinating portrait of the Roman Empire’s search for cultural meaning against what it regarded as impious athiests (Christians). Cool stuff.
-If anyone with any sort of clout with the NRSC or the Coleman campaign reads this blog, please…Stop the “Crazy Mad Angry Franken” ads. They’re not working!
-Another note, American Carol opens in theatres this weekend, please do what you can to support this movie by finding a friend and going out and seeing it.
