Movie Review

National Treasure II: The More Ridiculous

This movie was so ridiculously ridiculous it made the first movie seem plausible. I was ambivalent about the movie, then I saw it and the ambivalence became annoyance at how ridiculous the whole affair was. This wasn’t a good movie. Everything was contrived, the timing was off, the suspense was unsuspenseful and Nicolas Cage needs to be detained by Homeland Security. This movie doesn’t deserve to be reviewed.

  1. I have to agree with you. My dad and I went to see the first one, and while it was silly we also enjoyed it, and I thought it was reviewed more harshly than it should have been. My dad wanted to see the second, and I have to admit I did to, so we trudged to the theater and I pretty much left shaking my head — all of the endearing charm of the first movie somehow failed to make it into this thing. It’s too bad, really — the franchise had some limited potential.
